Years after the Civil War, an Army deserter with a dark secret is being hunted by members of his old unit. After they kidnap his ten-year-old daughter, he must survive the unforgiving California desert and rescue her before she’s the one who pays for his past.
Inspired by classic Westerns, the script takes a fresh approach by blending in supernatural elements to explore themes of PTSD, grief and loss, guilt, generational family dynamics, and the failures in fatherhood.
